This the 6th year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina - a major event in my life. We had a moment of silence at work for a colleague who lost her life due to the levee failure.

This also marks the first year I have not taken off work to remember the event. I suppose that's a good thing. A sign of a returning normality. Still, I think it's important to remember and reflect and not to forget.
